We reached our goal—now help us give even more voices the chance to be heard.
Welcome to the Department of Communicative Disorders and Sciences at SJSU and our community-focused speech-language therapy clinic, the Kay Armstead Center for Communicative Disorders (KACCD)!
For over 60 years, we have proudly supported the San Jose and South Bay areas by providing screening, assessment, and therapy for clients with communication disorders of all ages. The KACCD has been a trusted resource for individuals and families seeking therapy services for communication and related challenges.
What makes the KACCD truly special is that it offers these essential services at no cost to the community. In addition to serving the community, the clinic plays an important role in training for both undergraduate and graduate students to become skilled speech-language pathologists and audiologists.
We’re raising funds to directly support the clients and student clinicians at the Kay Armstead Center for Communicative Disorders. Your generous donations help us purchase augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices, ensuring we can provide the best possible care and training.

These contributions help remove barriers to delivering excellent services, expand access to essential communication tools, support faculty research, and allow us to offer valuable speech therapy to those who need it most. Thank you for making a difference!
