Who We Are
We’re the AI/ML Club at San José State University, a community of students who love artificial intelligence, machine learning, and learning by doing. Our mission is to make AI at SJSU more accessible and more connected to industry. We host technical workshops, speaker events, hands-on projects, and collaborative learning to prepare students to become the next generation of AI engineers, builders, and founders.
This April, we’re debuting our AI/ML Hackathon and we’re excited to create something special for the SJSU community.
What We’re Raising Money For
We are raising $1,000 to create a high quality and builder-focused hackathon experience.
Funds will go toward:
🏆Prizes that attract innovation and talent
🍕Meals and refreshments to keep hackers energized
💻Technical infrastructure to amplify builders
🎨Swag that creates memorable experiences
🏛️Venue and logistics to run everything smoothly
Why Our Goal Amount Matters: A great hackathon isn’t just about coding, it’s about opportunity.
With the right funding, we can:
- Attract 50-100 talented students across a diverse range of fields
- Provide real-world solutions in collaboration with industry
- Offer substantial prizes that motivate innovation
- Give students direct exposure to both recruiters and technical leaders
- Continue to build our AI/ML community at SJSU
- Afford more attendees to our events and
- Have access to more tools for our projects.
San José State offers many great classes, however, students often struggle to apply their talents and engage with industry. This hackathon is our way of bridging the gap by providing opportunity for students to experiment, collaborate, and shine through their innovations.
