This is a fundraising campaign by the Computer Engineering department at SJSU.
Computer and Software Engineering students benefit tremendously from internship experiences both in terms of learning and in terms of finding jobs after graduation. The best way to ensure students have access to such experiences is to have on-campus research and project opportunities in the early years of their degrees, both during the academic year and over the summer.
We have many faculty who are enthusiastic about mentoring students but do not always have sufficient funds to pay all of the students they can potentially mentor. We would like to raise funds to enable students to engage in paid cutting-edge research projects with faculty and benefit from the exciting learning opportunities that these experiences afford!
Our fundraising goal of $40,000 will enable us to support research or project experiences for 10 students during the academic year or summer.
