As California’s oldest literary journal, Reed Magazine has published cutting-edge fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and art for nearly 160 years. Over a century and a half of change in culture, the university, and the San Jose landscape, Reed Magazine has always been produced annually by San Jose State University students. Reed’s contributors include Pulitzer Prize winners, National Book Award winners, former US Poet Laureates, and emerging writers, and stories and poems published by Reed have won three Pushcart Prizes and two commendations from the City of San Jose in recent years. To celebrate this literary heritage and critical student work, we are developing a special anthology double issue for our 160th anniversary, which will feature bold new voices and archive highlights as well as profiles of student contributors who have gone on to receive international acclaim.

Your support will empower students and artists by:
- Funding the production of our 160th anniversary double issue
- Providing access to real-world experiences and professional development opportunities for student staff
- Ensuring that Reed continues to showcase diverse, powerful voices in a rapidly changing world
A gift to Reed Magazine is a vote of confidence for the literary arts, an act of empowerment for student editors, and an investment in the future of a vibrant literary community at SJSU and beyond. Thank you for giving today!
