At San José State University, the Responsible Computing Club brings together students from all majors to shape a more ethical, inclusive, and socially conscious future in technology. Technology influences how we communicate, create, do business, build communities, and shape culture. Because of this, shaping technology must include diverse voices and perspectives.
RCC empowers students across disciplines, from history and graphic design to pre-law, business, the arts, and computer science, to design and develop technology responsibly. Responsible computing means considering societal, ethical, environmental, and human impacts while building with transparency, accessibility, and real people at the center. As a Mozilla Student Network affiliate, RCC turns these conversations into action.
We are raising funds to expand our programming, including workshops on ethical technology and AI, speaker events with industry leaders, hands-on projects and consulting initiatives, and welcoming event spaces that make participation accessible to all students. These resources allow us to move beyond discussion and practice responsible computing through real-world collaboration.
RCC is more than a club. It is a community shaping the future of technology through diverse perspectives. With your support, we can continue building leaders who create technology responsibly and ensure students from all backgrounds have a voice in shaping what comes next.
