SKY Campus Happiness at San José State University is a student-led organization dedicated to creating a happy, mindful, and resilient campus community. Rooted in evidence-based breathwork, meditation, emotional intelligence training, and leadership development, we provide practical tools that help students, faculty, and staff thrive both personally and professionally. Inspired by the work of International Association for Human Values (IAHV), our club is part of a nationwide movement empowering students across 140+ universities to lead with clarity, resilience, and purpose.

We believe that mental well-being is a birthright—not a privilege. Through inclusive programming, we create safe spaces where students can connect, grow, and build a strong sense of belonging on campus.

We are raising $3,000 to fund our free Wellness Wednesday events and our flagship SKY Happiness Retreat programs.

Our Wellness Wednesdays are open to all students and staff—regardless of membership. These weekly events provide accessible mental health support through guided meditation sessions, breathwork workshops, arts and crafts activities, social connection exercises, and guest speakers. Funds will cover food, drinks, and essential supplies that make these events welcoming and accessible to everyone.

We are also raising funds to support our SKY Happiness Retreat, our core 3-day resilience training program. This immersive experience teaches an evidence-based breathing technique that has been empirically validated to reduce stress hormone (cortisol) levels, decrease symptoms of depression and anxiety, and improve overall mental well-being. Funding will go toward:

• Yoga mats and backjacks for comfortable practice
• Professional outreach materials (canopy, tablecloth, infographics)
• Club shirts for visibility and unity
• Course materials for participants
• Scholarships to ensure financial barriers never prevent students from attending

Additional funds will help students access advanced programs such as the SKY Silent Retreat, Sahaj Samadhi meditation program, and Leadership Training Program—transformational experiences that cultivate deep stress relief, self-awareness, service, and public speaking skills.

Every dollar directly supports student mental health and leadership development. Reaching our $3,000 goal ensures that:

1. students can attend life-changing retreats regardless of financial status.
2. weekly mental health programming remains completely free and inclusive.
3. we continue building a campus culture rooted in connection, resilience, and service.
