Every year, the Afghan Student Association at SJSU hosts one big night for our whole community. Our annual Afghan Cultural Banquet brings students, faculty, families, and neighbors to the same tables to celebrate Afghan culture together, whether they grew up with it or are experiencing it for the first time.
After the success of last year's banquet, more than 200 people are looking forward to the next one. Guests enjoy traditional music and dance and hear from guest speakers who help them learn about Afghanistan beyond the narratives they see in the media.
An event of this size takes real support. Your gift covers the essentials: Afghan food, traditional music and performances, cultural attire, and decorations. These let us recreate the lively banquet students remember and give guests from different backgrounds a place to connect.
Your support helps our campus see Afghanistan beyond common stereotypes and keeps this celebration going for the Spartans who come after us. Give by December 1!
