Help SJSU Seniors Build a Competition Plane

We are a team of senior aerospace engineering students at SJSU, and our capstone is an aircraft we are taking from the drawing board to the sky. We are building it to meet the demanding requirements of the AIAA Design, Build, Fly competition, where student teams from universities around the world show what they can engineer.

Designing an aircraft on paper is only the first step. To compete, we have to turn that design into a working prototype, then test it until it flies reliably. That is where we learn what textbooks can't teach us.

Your gift covers what it takes to get there. It buys balsa, plywood, and composite materials for the airframe, along with servos, motors, batteries, and flight control electronics. It pays for the hardware and tools we use to fabricate parts, for prototype testing that makes the aircraft more reliable, and for preparing and transporting it to competition.

As a student-run project, covering these costs is one of our biggest challenges. Our goal is $6,000, and our stretch goal is $7,000, which gives us more room to refine the design and finish testing before competition. Help us get our aircraft off the ground. Give by December 1!
