For years, SJSU student veterans have asked us the same question: can we get to SVA NatCon? This year, with your help, they can!
The Student Veterans of America National Conference brings together student veterans, employers, nonprofits, government representatives, and higher-education leaders from across the country. It's where student veterans build leadership skills, explore careers, and learn how other campuses support the people who served.
Our Veterans Student Organization sees what military-connected students navigate beyond the classroom: adjusting to campus life, finding community, and translating military experience into a civilian career. NatCon gives us the ideas and connections to meet those needs.
Our $5,000 goal sends three student veterans to NatCon 2027 in Grapevine, Texas, covering registration, round-trip airfare, shared lodging, meals, and local transportation. Our $7,500 stretch goal would cover the full cost of attendance, so no student pays out of pocket. A student's finances should never decide whether they can represent SJSU.
The impact won't end when the conference does. Our three representatives will come home to share what they learned, host a campus workshop, and organize a career development event for every military-connected Spartan.
